Home Building With a Purpose
Shelterwood Homes, founded 4 years ago, is a home construction business owned by Luke Brault and Mark Shepherdson. Mark, a biology graduate from UW-River Falls, spent time as an arborist climbing trees and working for the Fish and Wildlife Service before landing with a custom log and timber framing builder in Land O’ Lakes, WI. He gained valuable experience as a carpenter and realized this was his career path.
Luke, a former conservation student at UW-Stevens Point, began studying wilderness survival and homesteading skills which brought him to the Wisconsin Northwoods. These experiences with primitive building techniques sparked his interest in working with wood and the construction field eventually bringing him to the same custom builder in Land O’Lakes, WI.
Luke and Mark first met in 2009 and eventually started collaborating on projects. They continued their joint venture together for 7 years developing a friendship and passion in the construction field, eventually creating their own construction company in 2019.
Today, Luke and Mark, along with their dedicated employees, operate Shelterwood Homes and prioritize partnerships with trade professionals.
